December 27-28, 2015 Osvitoria has organized a two-day seminar, called “iPad in education” at Novopecherska school for innovative teachers. The seminar was first held for the teachers of Novopecherska school, which is considered a Ukrainian leader of innovative education. There were also invited teachers of Ukrainian secondary and professional institutions who use Mac and iPad in their professional activities. more
“Osvitoria” specialists have visited their paternalized students from Velykopolovetska Specialized Orphan Boarding School (Level I-II). The “First profession” program has successfully been implemented at the School for almost 3 years and enabled the orphans to learn a practical professions such as hairstyling and shoemaking and repair. “Osvitoria” provides the students not only with professionals but also with all the materials and equipment necessary for easy and comfortable learning. more
Artur Kocharyan, an expert in information and communication technologies and Irina Sitkarova, a psychologist of social organization “Osvitoria” visited the students of “Smaragdove misto” in the end of November. In a playful and relaxed atmosphere they communicated with the high school students about the importance of safety on the Internet, the value of each individual, self-esteem and self-consciousness. During the meeting the professional orientation program which included “Magellanо” international test was presented to the students. more

HS “Osvitoria”, “NVK” Novopecherska School ” and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in cooperation with Microsoft Ukraine and Corinth software group are hosting this years Ukrainian Teachers Contest to showcase their professional skills. The contest is oriented for all teachers who currently implement modern information and communication technologies in their educational practices.
The target of the contest is to encourage secondary school teachers to use modern information and communication technologies in their daily educational practices.
Contest participants are secondary school teachers of Ukraine.

A panel of judges will evaluate each participants’ projects. An important aspect of the evaluation is the
qualitative use of the Corinth software during the lesson.

After winning the Enactus national contest of social projects, the project “iLearn” was presented at the World contest held in Beijing from 22 to 24 of October, 2014. There, teams from 36 countries of the world demonstrated their achievements. Also, they exchanged their useful experience in implementing social projects.
Ukrainian team won an honorable III place in the League after Canada and Germany possessing first and second places respectively. The teachers of foreign languages from Novopecherska school helped students make the presentation and demonstrate it on a good level. The initiative “iLearn” was admired among the members of the international jury, representatives of international social organizations and teams of contesters.
In 2014, 500 students from more than 30 orphanages all around Ukraine took part in the project “iLearn”.
As a result, the majority of them passed the external test successfully and got a unique opportunity to enter the university of their dream. The project participants have already become students of Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko, National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, National Aviation University, Odessa Law Academy and other universities in Ukraine.
The United Nations Academic Impact – a program of the United Nations and educational institutions was designed to develop the education sector and solve global social problems. According to the UN, the «iLearn» project allows learners obtain the necessary knowledge and skills to continue their education.
This deemed the «iLearn» project to receive the status of the educational initiatives of the UN.
The objectives of the «iLearn» project is to help students from boarding schools, orphanages and needy families get academic knowledge to successfully complete the entrance exams to universities in Ukraine.
The award ceremony for this year’s teacher of the year was presented on the 29th of May at the building of the teachers.
“Osvitoria” was a sponsor of this event because they agree with the concept of acknowledging the work of creative and progressive teachers and assist them in their professional development.
Artur Kocheryan congratulated the winners and presented each with a special gift. The first place winner was presented with a laptop, the second place winner was presented with an iPad and their place was presented with an iPad mini.
Among the contestants and previous winners were members of Novopechershka school staff; elementary teachers, Oksana Khomych and Marina Pristinska were awarded second and their place respectively.

The “harmonious development” program established by HS ” OSVITORIYA ” attracted a private investor, who provided funds to fully equip a sensory room in Bila Tserkva at school №15. Over the past 10 years, this school has successfully implemented an inclusive education program.
Currently 17 students with exceptionalities, which include emotional development impairment, hearing impairment, loco motor system and autism spectrum disorders, have been provided with the essential tools to successfully participate in the learning process.
A sensory room is a special room with a variety of stimulating equipment, which, stimulate the senses of vision, hearing, touch and breathing help stabilize the emotional state of the child and enhance their brain activity.
Osvitoria, the non-profit public association, supported the “Teacher of the Year 2014” contest phase held in the capital city. Fifty teachers from educational institutions in Kiev who took part in the contest demonstrated advanced skills in teaching their subjects. The main evaluation criterion in the contest was the use of innovative educational technologies with focus on the result. Owing to Osvitoria the winners were awarded with valuable prizes: a laptop for the first place, iPad tablet for the second and iPad Mini for the third.
Contest participants exhibited a high standard of knowledge in their subjects, showcased their pedagogical ideas and achievements and proved themselves committed to innovations. We hope that the event will inspire the educators to creative development and will contribute to the improvement of their professional proficiency.
