29-30 April in Kharkiv the largest event of the year for school teachers – the Third National (un) conference EdCamp Ukraine 2017 was held. EdCamp (un)conferences are held by adopting new participant-driven format for educators to co-create all over the world.
Its main objective – to encourage independence and initiative of teachers, exchange of experience and ideas, discussion of the concept of the New Ukrainian schools, jobs of the future and the necessary reforms.

The Global Teacher Prize is a US $1 million award presented annually to an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession.
This year “Osvitoria” began a national stage of Global Teacher Prize Ukraine competition. Prize winner will receive 100 thousand UAH, a year of free training and registration for “Global Teacher Prize” and a trip for “Global Education and Skills Forum” in Dubai in 2018. more
Today our team visited the charity fair in Samhorodotskа boarding school. Since October, the students learn carving as a part of “First profession”program. We saw that children really succeed! Alder, birch, walnut, and various different boards flashed delicate patterns. Children see in this work rewarding hobby and learn to earn money first. more
Now Ukraine has a national competition for teachers “Global Teacher Prize Ukraine”! NGO “Osvitoria” launches the contest with a 100,000 UAH prize fund. About the details says head of NGO “Osvitoria” Zoya Lytvyn and manager of the project “Global Teacher Prize Ukraine” Olenka Severenchuk.
Children from boarding schools lack so much for study, for example, computers and even teachers. As a result boarding schools can not give competitive education to their students. And while Ukrainian teenagers preparing for final test, attend special courses, learn foreign languages, children from boarding schools and orphanages lose valuable time and knowledge.
This situation have seen our specialists during visiting Ukrainian boarding schools.
Ukrainian edition of Amanda Ripley`s book “The Smartest Kids in the World” published in ukrainian language by Vasily Khmelnytsky K.Fund supported by NGO”Osvitoria”. The book was presented at public lecture by Global Education Expert Andreas Schleicher.
Andreas Schleicher is Director for Education and Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. Не is the one of the main characters and sources for the book. During the lecture he analyzed the experience of OECD countries in improving the quality of schooling.
In Ukraine will appear a new award for teachers – Global Teacher Prize Ukraine! The memorandum was signed by “Osvitoria” team in Dubai, where Global Teacher Prize awards ceremony took place.
“The new award is to promote the teaching profession and to enable Ukrainian teachers to join the international community” – commented the event the head of the NGO “Osvitoria” Zoya Lytvyn.
